I've got a 93 VFR 750 with around 42,000 miles on it. The bike is in very good shape overall but I do not believe the previous owner ever did any work on the front forks. Just a few inches below the left fork seal near the front fender there is an area with alot of sticky acculation of dirt and grime that I do not see around the right fork. This leads me to believe the fork may have a slight leak. Is it worth rebuilding the forks or would it make more sense to just to swap them out with something better. I've heard that the forks from a Superhawk are compatible and heard conflicting opinion on use of CBR F3 forks without requiring other modifications. Can anyone advise on what my options are with the least amount of modification?

    Regards,
    Rollin

An F2 frontend will work; your VFR has a mechanical speedo, same as the F2. You could use F3 forks, but you would have to figure out another way to make your speedo work. Best thing would be to use F2 or F3 internals and keep the VFR fork tubes and lowers. F3 internals are what you want; just stay away from the HMAS ones (98-up).

Doesn't the speedo run off the output shaft of the transmission? Why would changing the front end affect it?

I'm in the process of swapping an entire F3 front end on my 93 VFR. I'm gonna post pix while I'm doing it, I'll also post pix before, during and after I power coat the wheel white.
