Sorry, this question has had to have been asked already but I'm not having any luck in the forum search.

Does anyone know if a 4th gen (namely a '96) 750 engine will bolt directly up in a 3rd gen?

apparently the forum search won't let me search just the 3rd & 4th Gen forum - I keep turning up results in the 1gen

Man, I know you won't like my answer but ALOT of the engine is interchangable between the 3rd and 4th gen. However, if memory serves, the 4th gen has carbs that are a bit different. Its not a straight swap out.

What I recommend is jump on Ron Ayers and get the Honda Part numbers and see if the valve and other internal parts are the same. After all, thats all you want.

Oh, if you need more help with plastic repair, let me know.

It is what it is, nothing to like or not. Thanks for the response bubba.

BTW, valves are fine (as far as I know at this point), you may be confusing my stupidity in installing cams.

The real problem is either a rod bearing or wrist pin etc... There's an update in my New Project in the Stable thread...
