OK, today in iowa it's mid 40's outside so I went out to the garage to dink around some. I started the bike to look at some things and let it run for a bit. I felt around the 30A fuse by the battery and the red wire with the white strip going to the fuse was too hot to keep a hold of bare handed. Nothing is burned up yet, and by burned up I mean visibly melting or brown. What would be a normal temp for this wire? Too hot to hold seems too hot to me. What do I need to look for to fix this before something gets permanently damaged? Chip
so I noticed that it was the short section of wire only that was getting hot, the wire on teh other side of the fuse was fine as was the same wire on the other side of the plug... seems this short section is a lesser guage wire and can't quite handle the load sometimes. I'll get to fixing this directly.
