Hi, I have been offered a Hagon rear shock, as the title says its for the ghjk, model and mine is the L, what is the difference between the two. I have a 929 on standby but this shock is lovely and cheap:biggrin:

    Thanks for looking

Good evening, sounds like an interesting project. A buddy of mine tried to put a 929 shock onto a 3nd gen bike, but one of the ends is not the same style, which he could overcome, but he said that he would have to mod the battery box and one of the heat shields. The 4th gen bike needs a shock with an eye on both ends and the 3rd gen has a fork and an eye. He is an experienced bike mechanic and a decent fabricator and he thought it was not going to work. About the same time I installed a 929 shock on my 4th gen with help from this forum [you need to fabricate a mount as the 929 is shorter, but that was not that hard]. I changed a few things to make the install easier. I'm very pleased with the results and I think that the shock works very well. I had installed an Ohlins on my last bike and this one is almost as good. If you are not on the track, or riding very, very hard, I think it would not that much different. If you decide to not use the Hagon, my buddy is still in need of a 3rd gen shock and I have an extra 929 shock on the shelf ,the one that did not fit. If you are interested we could do a swap, etc. Or if you do install the Hagon I would like to see what you had to do to make it work. Have fun and good luck with your mods, they are fun to do. Oops, got my Gen's mixed up. Still have the extra shock if you want it.

The shock lengths are very different. The 2nd gen part is much shorter. While usually it's possible to lengthen shocks, the Hagons are not very good units and I haven't had any luck working on them. In fact, from my experiences a stock 929 is a superior product by a good amount.
