What is the shock length eye to eye on the 2nd gen VFR's. I know that the 87 is longer than the 86 so if anyone knows the difference that would be great.

270 mm is what it says on my Ohlins shock information. That is from eye to clevis at the bottom.

Thanks Dukiedook for that. I would like to know the stock shock lenghts if possible. I have done the CBR wheel and F3 fork change and I am wanting to get a feel for how much I need to raise the rear end to correct the shorter rear wheel and also maybe raise it a little more.

I was looking into this stuff when i first got my 2nd gen

Guy on ebay measured a stock 1986 vfr700/750 shock for me: 10.5" eye to eye distance

Another guy measured a 3rd gen shock for me and it was: 13.5"

For poops and chuckles I'll measure my Ohlins at home....see if it differs from what Dookie says

Works Performance lists the length from eye to clevis as 10.63" which is 270mm.
