The wife and I left August 15 on our latest motorcycle trip and returned home October 25. Attended the Indy MotoGP races and the Barber Vintage Festival along the way. Rode all the great roads and passes we could fit in. We rode all but one day and put exactly 14,025 miles on the bike. Had mostly fantastic weather, except a day of rain and some hail and snow. Riding temperatures ranged from 31F to 106F. Rode in PA, OH, IN, IL, WI, MN, SD, ID, MT, WY, WA, OR, UT, CO, AZ, NM, TX, OK, AR, MS, AL, GA, SC, NC, TN, MD, VA, WV, and KY. It was an awesome trip! Planning next year's trip right now!

I think you went down to the corner store and drank some bad orange juice.. then got on your bike trippin balls and got lost for an hour and half . Then you started feeling really sick and stopped and laid down for a while by the railroad tracks then a train woke you up and you went home thinking you had this epic ride. . Your wife is just playing along with this whole road trip thing.
I was on my K1600GTL and didn't want to be mocked. I'm very sensitive. I did meet up with several very cool VFRD dudes, though. :biggrin-new:
Wow.....we just got dissed guys. Long and Reggie ride BMWs, some members on here ride Triumphs, Kawies, Suzies, Yammies, etc. Doesn't matter what you ride, we are all brothas on here.....and then theres badbilly  Does this mean I just pass on by your place on my cross country next year?
I would not have mocked you. At least not in front of your wife, shit gimme some credit. You missed a bourbon country tour. That all by itself is punishment enough for you.
Just bustin' chops. Met a lot of people along the way. Nicest people out West! Saw many VFRs, all gens, but not the owners. I have pics of several. Did not see one VFRW sticker on any of them, though. I really missed my VFR while I was gone, especially in the twisties. But the K1600 was surprisingly capable. I'm pulling the VFR forks and sending them and a 929 shock I have to Jamie Dougherty for rebuild. Also putting the old girl back to mostly stock (defarkleing). I'm going to use it for solo rides and track days. Should be more than adequate for an old guy!
