My VFR (manual trans) is losing clutch fluid, but the garage floor is spotless. Anybody know where it might be leaking?

I hope it has not blown a sela and leaking into the crankcase. Check the slave cylinder for sure.

I hope so too! However, havent had time to dig into it much the last week or so with all the holiday festivities and a busy work schedule. Once i eliminate any external leaks, i will probaby have to start disassembling stuff. Does anyone have experience with this?

Today i got out the inspection mirror and flashlight and checked the slave cylinder area for leaks...didn't see anything and floor is still clean. i topped off the master cylinder, and i will keep an eye on it for a week or two and see if the fluid level changes at all. Thanks for the replies!

Yeah, at least on the older vfr's the clutch push rod penetrates the crankcase via an oil seal and interacts with the slave cylinder in an external enviroment. I can't see them introducing the slave cylinder into the crankcase. Could be wrong though.

Exactly! i'm thinking that if there are no visible external leaks, that the only place the fluid could go is into the crankcase, and contaminating the oil.

Update: After a short ride earlier this week, i pulled back into the garage and immediately noticed a burning smell coming from "Big Red". The leak has probably advanced to the point where it is dripping onto one of the headers, so it's time to pull the plastic off and start trying to find it. i will update this post as i make progress.
