I have to make deliveries out to the reservation once or twice weekly. The paved roads are in rough shape. Particularly, there's 20 to 30 yard stretches that are full of small patches, and the road is quite bumpy. If I have to cross ten or so 30-yard patches of this bumpy pavement once or twice a week, will this be tough on the forks? There's little chance of them bottoming out - any holes that are there are smaller, maybe 4 to 6 inches deep, 4 to 6 inches across.

Will this wear the forks out? Is it hard on the rest of the bike? Am I better off on a dual sport or will it really matter? The dual sports don't look like they have particularly durable springs either, other than the venerable XR650L. Thoughts?

Beware of pot holes, more risks to the front rim, bent my 8th gen rim at a slow speed.

For the most part, I can avoid them. The small patches are hard to avoid though.

I came around a corner and there it was, figured if I hit it wrong it would have tossed me. A 6" deep hole in asphalt can do a number on the rim, I was surprised, didn't think the impact was that bad. Had it straightened a local shop.
