How would you like to see YOUR VFR-related photo in the first annual VFRworld calendar? We are planning to team up with Cafepress to create our first calendar featuring our beloved VFR/Interceptor, and we need bad-ass photos, 12 of them to be precise!

I am proposing that we have a 3 week contest, where VFRworld members vote on photos and YOU decide what will be in the calendar!

Now, of course the VFRworld Photo Gallery is already full of AMAZING shots, many of which you see on the front page. The problem is that they are not high resolution, so they are great for a web page, but not so great for blowing up and turning into a calendar. That's where you come in!

If you have a favorite VFR photo that you would like to enter into the contest, you can upload it into a special Calendar gallery. Once it's uploaded, members will be able to vote on their favorite photos!

If you would like to submit a photo (multiple photos are fine!), here are the guidelines:

    1. It must be VFR-related.
    2. It must be at least 200 DPI.
    3. It must be BIG, in the neighborhood of 2300 pixels x 1800 pixels, which is about 11" by 9". Photos smaller than this will look pixelated when blown up on the calendar.
    4. You may submit a high-resolution version of photos that have already been uploaded to VFRworld.
    5. All years and models are welcome - in fact, a variety would make for a better calendar!

You can upload your photo submissions to this category in the Photo Gallery:

    http://vfrworld.com/photos/showgallery.php/cat/578

Just click on "Upload Photo" at the top right.

    What do you think?

Any picture you think would look great in a calendar. My favorites are action shots and shots of a VFR in front of something scenic, like a waterfall or twisty road. But, it's up to VFRworld who wins! Start sending in your photos, as many as you like!

Every pic in my gallery I also have in original format, but my camera is only 3MP so none are big enough for a calendar. Maybe one of the riders today will have a 5MP camera and we can gett some cool pics of ME! ;)

What resolution are your pics in? The DPI and the Pixels x Pixels? Maybe they will work!

I'm new to VFRWorld, but have already posted an entry. Like RVFR, I have other shots of me and the bike or the bike alone all of which are 5mp or higher.

    Really enjoying VFRWorld so far.

Be sure to upload all your entries to the Calendar Contest area in the Photo Gallery! That way people can vote and we can get the calendar made!!

I was able to vote for yours, what does it say when you try to vote? It's possible that the system doesn't let you vote for your own, I'm not sure. :)

First - it's true, the software is limited to one vote per person. If it were up to me, it would allow three votes per person, but it doesn't, and it's not easy to change. But, let's just see how it plays out, and we'll put up the final list and see if everyone thinks that will make a fabulous calendar (I bet it will). :)

I'm thinking we should let people post their photos for another three weeks (until the end of November perhaps?). Then give members two more weeks to finish voting (mid-December?). Then the calendars would be for sale sometime around the third week of December. Any objections to that timeline? I know I know, I should have suggested this a month ago!

Not to state the completely obvious, as long as I can get it by 01 Jan 2007, I'm fine with whatever time line works out. Any speculation as to the price of the calendar? If a person's pic wins, can that person pick what month they want? If so, I want August.
