I stopped at a Naperville IL Suzuki shop that is going out of Business. (LVC Suzuki)They had a 2006 RC 51. Tasteful custom black and grey paint Yoshimura exhaust, racing logos on the side(I forget who's). Was asking $9700. Now asking $7000. I didn't give it much thought while I was in the shop but thought about it on my way home. I just gave the bike a quick look and didn't "inspect" it. I don't even know how many miles are on it. It had three cracks on the very top of the passenger seat cowl, almost like something was dropped on it from above. I just bought my RWB VFR in Sept. and I am not looking for a bike but I was just wondering if this sounds like a good deal. When they ask for 7k you know you can do better and an RC 51 is a pretty cool ride.
I just checked their website, now they are asking $6800 and it has 3600 on the clock. My son says that is a stock Honda paint job with Sabree racing. He says I am tortureing him because he says thats his favorite bike and you will never see it at a better price. Anybody interested check it out. lvcmotorsports.com
I'll second that PAred! Somebody had one at NJMP-Thunderbolt in September last year and the exhaust system on it sounded bad ass! I think they were in I group. My buddies asked "What the hell bike is that"? as it went by, and I said its an RC, but there were a couple there so I didn't know who's it was. The sound it made is best described as: "I'm here to eat Ducati's" BZ
Looks like they have some pretty good deals. They also have a 2006 Kawi Connie with hardbags and only 3600 miles for $4800 I wonder if they will allow me to trade my wife for the RC51 Regards, Rollin
I live five minutes from O'hare. If someone wants it, make a deal and I'll give you a ride to go get it. Just remember there is a foot of snow on the ground in Chicago right now.
Dude this makes me think of a project where you take the 4th gen swing arm and a rear sub frame / tail section off a 6th gen and mate it up to a RC51.... Hmmm
I want an RC51 sooooooooooo bad.... but my poor college ass can't afford two bikes, let alone the ridiculous insurance of an RC51
