Hi all, Joe here, need some advice FAST. there is a bike, all black here for 5999$ and has 5k miles, is that a good price for this bike? Also, the rear passenger pegs seem to be gone, how would i go about getting some of those back on for the lady???? What kind of prices would i be looking at also? I have been riding all my life and my first bike was an 86 vfr 700 and i miss that v4 like no other. I been searching for a good used VFR that is close and i'm literally drooling over this one! Thanks for any info y'all got for me

:whoo:I would offer $5000, I paid $4500 for my 06 then about $900 to ship it-a little less miles. $6000 is too much, $5500 would be fair. Oh-my 06 also has abs-$1,000 option-so if you look at it that I got a really good deal-but the battery was dad and the back tire with a bit burned up. I don't think they made very many black ones and the 06 black is the best vfr made except for the 2013-2014 model-get sliders right away-you will drop it a few times

Even though the bike has low mileage it is still a 9 year old bike so I agree that the price is high unless the seller is including hard bags or other aftermarket extras. $5000 seems about right in my opinion but if the seller won't budge on the price I say look elsewhere as there are many better deals to be found. Also don't be afraid to consider VFRs with slightly higher mileage since these bikes have solid engines that can last well over 100k miles with basic maintenance. VFRs are typically owned by older and more responsible riders and there are plenty of comparable "like new" condition VFRs out there for sale with 25k miles or less which is just broken-in terms of overall lifespan. While the mileage might be slightly higher they should be just as reliable and significantly cheaper. Is the bike you are looking at ABS model or just standard linked brakes?

It's the linked brakes. Non abs. I'm more worried about the absence of passenger pegs and mounts. I need to know if those are able to be purchased.

:funky:post pics of bike, you will find out why these bikes fall over, fill gas tank to full and inflate tires to max then make some tight turns-see if you can not drop it

I see them all the time on ebay. If you want new, I believe their still available.

I have been riding for 20 years and my first bike was a 1986 vfr 700. I'm ok with the turns! I ride two Harley's so I know all about shatty turns and engineering.

Ignore son of wolf. Id offer 5k. Does the seller have the pegs. A lot of guys take them off and they are laying around the garage. 6k is a bit over priced. As said, these motors are reliable. 100k + isn't uncommon. If you pay 5 k the seller should buy you rear pegs.

Good deal, it's from a dealership so I'm sure they are game to negotiate. Love the v4 platform. Have had many a bikes since my first vfr and all new bikes I look at I keep coming back to the interceptor. They actually have a 1986 all white for sale for 3k in my hometown. Tempted to go look that bad boy up!!!!!!
