2005 VFR Won't Rev Over 6000RPM!! Help!!!

    It was fine the other day. Now it just won't rev over 6k rpm. Runs fine with a gradual throttle under 6k but any strong twist of the throttle it's met with a bogging or loss of power. Please help guys!!
    I'm desperate!

    I would also check your airbox. Those fooking mice move in and can pack it with insulation, nuts, pee etc. Bastards

    Them rodents sure can f things up !:Yield: And pee in the airbox can ruin carbs or FI plates from the acid.

    OK - 6k is roughly where the vtec valves should be cutting in - it sounds like a FI issue but it could be linked to something mechanical (see below). Are there any CEL/MIL messages when you start the bike? Watch you dash for flashing light messages from the FI light. Is the coolant temperature showing up on the dash?



    I also recall that the vtec will not trigger until the bike warms up - so it could be as simple as a loose wire providing faulty temperature sensor input to the ECU or a radiator airlock or low coolant meaning the sensor is not in contact with coolant.
