Owned a vfr 750 for years, but have no real experience with a 6th gen. Friend looking to buy a 2005, if anyone wants to share their opinions about the pros or cons to the bike let me know. My gut tells me to refer him to a nice 5th gen 2000-2001.

There is an ASS TON of controversy about 5th vs 6th gens round here. I own a 6th gen and love it. I have ridden a friends 5th gen and love it too. You really can't go wrong if the bike is in good condition and not too pricey, jump on it and flog the tires offa that thing!!

I love both my 2k 5th Gen VFR and my 05 6th Gen VFR. My 05 VFR is a 6th Gen VTEC model - some would say there is much controversey regarding the VTEC engine. The 6th Gen VFR has a better suspension and no RR issues, but you gotta ride it hard on the street if you wanna move. It is a better ride on open road, but you still got ride hard if you wanna move - IMHO. I really like my 05 VTEC VFR, but I LOVE my 5th Gen VFR. I kinda wanna sell the 6th Gen VFR and try to find a 2k or 2001 VFR with low miles (under 20k mi). If you get a 6th Gen VTEC VFR I would say look for an 06. My 05 is ok with the LeoVance slip on and Power Commander, and the flapper mod, but I do not like it stock. Love the VFR but my personal favorite is the 5th Gen. I still think the 93 White VFR is the prettiest.
