Recently added a 2005 VFR to the stable and have no rear brakes.

There is no pressure and pedal just goes all the way down and no brake.

After a couple of pumps, there is some weak braking. Is it just air in the system and needs to be bled?

Looking to do bleeding and fluid change, or would be an expensive fix? Thank you all :)

What you descibe certainly sounds like air in the system. There is a specific sequence to bleeding the "back" brake involving many more steps that you may realise. Grab a manual if you want to DIY. The linked brakes make the system quite complex, for example in addition to actuating the outer two rear pistons, the pedal also drives the left front piston, as well as supplying fluid to the secondary master cylinder on the left leg, which in turn pressurises the centre rear piston.

Thank you Terry, yes it was air on the left valve(next to the battery) and all is good now. :)
