I have 2004 vfr with 14986 miles on it. Just got it used from dealer and was running fine. Now every other day or so it will start idling rough and surging while I am riding. Sometimes it will die and sometimes not. I can usually tell when it is going to start doing it by the neutral light and (at night) the dash lights start flicker not blinking but just flicker. I called honda and checked for recall and they said it had been done. I also checked 30 amp fuse and no burning or anything. And I also check the r/r wire reading incorrectly problem( I accutally got it to mess up while doing the testing) and it read the same on volt meter at battery and the black/white wire going to r/r. I am just trying get other help to figure out this problem.

Any help with this problem would be greatly apperciated.

    Thanks Kevin

Think you better bring it in to a mech to check...could be anything from loose wires or stator coil going to give up.

    Update

I have torn apart the vfr looking for short in wiring. I followed the ground from battery to the grouding point and could move wire with fingers. I was just curious if this loose ground wire could have cause these electrical problems? I could not get it to reproduce problems will I was wiggleing wire. Do yall think this was problem or continue looking further?

    Thanks Kevin
