Just picked up a 2004 VFR for a smoking hot deal. Bit of a puzzler as it looks gorgeous, starts and runs fine, and appears to be bone stock right down to the factory safety stickers that were never removed.

    See pic...

Anyway, got it home and started inspecting it closely. Needs a new chain and sprockets (Tight Spot), oil change, coolant flush, Brakes flushed, Throttle cable lubed, air filter, and tires (current tires look brand new but were manufactured in 2008). So everything is on order along with a Maintenance Manual. Looking forward to giving this bike a refresh.

Welcome! Good job on your first post, photo included. How is your new ride "a puzzler"?

Good looking bike there, what’s the mileage on it?

I'll sort it out. Engine and Plastics are good. Someone just left it set too long. 23500 miles.

If it’s been sat that long as well as the usual oil, hydraulics and coolant it’s worth changing the fluid in the forks, PIA but worth it

Looks like you scored a very nice bike. Please post an update once you fix the bike up.

New Grips (Oxford), Levers, air filter, and front and rear sprockets have been fitted. Snorkle, and Pair mods done. New chain and Exhaust go on tonight. Then a change of tires. As expected for a bike that sat, there was a little home in the airbox for some critters.
