I installed a voltmeter on my 04 Interceptor when I bought it used with about 2,500 miles on it.

At around 11,000 miles I started getting intermittent high voltage indications after a longish ride in hot weather with lots of stop and go traffic. (Above 90 deg F.)

I took the bike to the local Honda dealer since the bike had an extended warrenty on it. Dealer said it was in "spec" at 15.5 volts.

When I checked it, my Fluke meter said that the voltage was fluctuating between 15.4 and 16.2 volts depending on the electrical load at 5,000 RPM.

Dealer said bike was good to go and that I should get rid of the aftermarket volt meter and some extra L.E.D. tail lights that I had added. Then wanted to sell me tires, brakes, oil change, ................ no thanks!

Anybody else have any high voltage R/R problems on th newer VFR800 models?

I have decided to change the rectifier / regulator before I have other problems. .............. but will mail order from another dealer.
