2003 V-Tec not working when cold

    My son told me yesterday that the V-Tec has stopped working on his 2003 VFR-800 when the engine is cold. Once the engine heats up the V-Tec then starts working again. Any ideas?

    This is normal operation.

    VTEC doesn't start operating on my bike until its warmed up to 68-72*C

    My last 6th gen and current one both function like this.

    You really shouldn't be revving an engine above 7000 RPMs when its below 150*F
