2003 non ABS VFR 800 VTEC charging system woes

    At 30K miles my tach started bouncing erratically. Battery tested good.

    New voltage regulator installed.
    Low idle voltage 11.8v. at speed 12.2 v.
    I suspect the stator

    I would appreciate advice from anyone who has replaced their 6th gen stator. I see stator prices from $40 on ebay to $118 and $200 from Various sources.
    Best place to buy? Will need gasket also?

    Honda recall has been performed with new wiring harness.
