Anyone else havin trouble downshifting from high gear while rolling to a stop. Occasionaly the shifter does nothing as I come to a stop. I have to fiddle and fart around with it while stopped in order to find first gear. Annoying to me and the drivers waiting behind. I know that a simple change in riding style by starting my downshifting earlier will take care of the problem. Just want to be reassured that this isn't a sign of other problems lurking in the future.

Just feather the clutch in/out/in( so it starts to engage) it allows the gearbox shafts to turn a bit to allow the gears and drive dogs to engage as you press'pull the gear lever. Remember there is no synchromesh in a bike gear box (unlike a car/suv). If youre ever stalled and in gear, rocking the bike back and forth allows the gears to do the same so you can get to neutral.
