    Hi,
Yes i know this is probably another thread about ticking noise on vfr but i don't think i can figure it out myself.
Vfr has only 29kkm on the clock. I replaced both cam chain tensioners for a genuine honda parts but ticking noise still there.
I brought that to 2 mechanics and both said it sounds very nice and told me there is nothing to worry about.
I know the clutch basket is a bit noisy so i'll make another video with clutch pulled in.
    Here is youtube link

I'll be grateful for any advice on that.

Would confidently say its not CCT's After all, you have replaced them. CCT's make a characteristic clatter sound up high around the cylinder head covers.
Sounds more like clutch basket rattle.

    Thanks for reply.
Definitely not cct's because she sounds exactly the same after cct's replacement.
When i pull in the clutch she sounds a bit better but that annoying ticking/clicking noise is still there. I was thinking about header gaskets but not sure if that's the issue.

Dos anyone think it is broken other than you? I've owned a number of vehicles that ticked and it was perfectly normal. Maybe...just ride and enjoy it? Earplugs are cheap! :)

So far i am the only one thinking there is something wrong with it... :)
Here is another video where you can clearly hear that ticking/knocking noise.

Hopefully VTEC owners will chime in.

First video sounds fine. Second video sounds a little ticky, but I really don't have a bunch of comparisons. I will say it doesn't look like those valve covers have been off ever.

I do know when I "video" my VFRs, they sound a little more ticky on a phone recording. And I know there is absolutely nothing wrong, as I just had the valve covers off.

Make sure the oil is good, put in your earplugs (that you should always be wearing) and ride the PISS out of it.

Just had a quick look behind the front headers using a mirror. I can see a good bit of a black stuff behind the right header. I'll do the gaskets first and i hope the sound will dissapear. I also booked her in for valve clearance check/adjustment next week. Planning to keep her for a good while so worth to invest a bit of money in it in my opinion.

It's amazing how a small exhaust leak can sound like an internal engine noise sometimes, and sound like it's coming from somewhere else.

    Sounds like a good plan.

I hope it is just a small exhaust leak or in the worst case scenario valve clearance.
    I'll keep you updated.

Does the noise quieten when you pull the clutch in?

If it does it is a "they all do that" problem, balancing the starter valves goes a long way in reducing it.
