    Hi!

I fired up my baby today for the first time in 3 months. It just started. Even with the old gas!

It has 49,202 miles on it. She has lived 1 block from the beach ever since my father puchased her in 2001. Thank god I jumped on it in 2002 and started riding it. My father just gave it to me (he bought a harley).

For the last 12+ years I have been rocking this thing. Almost a daily driver, been on the track 1x Laguna Seca and 2x Buttowillow. My brother and I have made the yearly pilgrimage up the 1 to see the MotoGP races at laguna seca 8/10 past years. I live in Orange County, he lives in Redondo (and rides a supreme 954r). I love my Honda. We love our honda's.
So, this thing is bad ass. I love explaining to people what a V4 is by using my two fingers with both hands making a double vtwin motion. And then I explain what it's like to have gears instead of a chain drive!
    That Noise!
    I love you honda.
Even though at 40k I blew the gearset one day on the 73N and spent over $1200 in repairs. No matter that even after a Mission Motorsports Honda dealership rebuid, it leaks oil probably too much to track again, I cannot let the sound of your gears meshing and V4 whining go. I cannot let the forgiving feel of linked brakes guide me time and time again. I mean I slam into and right up to stop light lines like they are nothing. With fresh Dunlop's 208 or GPs or *'s or whatever they run this year, yeah its heavy, but the torque is just something to behold.

    That sound.....
    I love you

    problems:

    - Sometimes she gets too hot just standing in traffic. I have water wetter in it and am considering Evans no water coolant. The thermostat pulls perfectly at 182 degrees, its not that. More like a water pump vane is gone or its just always been a hot bike. It has always just run at @ 220. Kind of frustrating, but I have lived to deal with it. The brakes could probably be rebuilt, and feel a little draggy or sticky. I turned the throttle non screw up once when I was having engine die out conditions once. When I fire it up from a fresh cold now ( Socal 65 degrees) it will idle at about 1800 rpm, and sometime spike and hold at about 3700 rpm until the thermostat warms to 180 degrees, then the rpm will kick back down to about 1700. I have it idle fast because i dont like when it dies on me in the extreme traffic heat. other than that and the sticky brakes, my hi lo switch is dying. This is probably explainable because I rock this bike and have been leaving it out in the socal salt morning dew and rain for the last 10 + years. Ow and i put a solar panel batter charger on it, and rigged a thumb switch to turn the fan on when I want to. It doesnt do anything though (the fan), and I keep it from overheating usually by shifiting up and trying to get air to it. I move my legs. They burn on long trips anyways. I love my honda.
