Is there a way to align the rear hub/sprocket to get better chain alignment to the counter sprocket????

There is no way to adjust the alignment relative to the counter sprocket. Out of curiosity have the OEM sprockets ever been replaced? My guess is that either the wrong sprocket was used or an OEM counter sprocket was used and it was installed backwards since the OEM unit has a built in dampening spacer on one side if I remember correctly. Is there much lateral play in the counter sprocket when you move it by hand? Most aftermarket sprockets I have seen do not have the dampening spacer so this may account for some of the difference.

Replaced both Sprocket and Counter Sprocket with aftermarket (Sidewinder Titanium). I remember looking at the Counter before installing and it appeared symmetrical on each side. There may have been a SLIGHT difference. The chain is just slightly off from centered on the rear Sprocket. I'm slightly OCD/Anal and look for perfection. Not at all causing and issue.

I was going to ask this same question. I was wondering if maybe the countershaft sprocket needed a spacer behind it or ?? I recently put new sprockets and chain on and i can tell it is off just a little. But mine i can actually hear it making some funny noises at times. I put vortex sprockets on and did x-ring chain and was hoping for smooth operation, while its not terrible its also not much better than what i took off. Im considering just getting the stock sprockets new and putting them on. The chain has less than 2000 miles on it so i would hope it would be okay. After spending over 200 bucks i think im getting ocd also.

The sprocket should have a slight amount of lateral movement that allows it to slide in/out on the output shaft to help it align to the rear sprocket once the chain gets moving. Like I said before the OEM sprocket has a dampening spacer on the inner side so you won't see as much movement. If the sprocket you replaced didn't have this dampening spacer it means it was an aftermarket unit. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you hear the chain/sprockets making unusual sounds or hear the chain slapping against other parts.
