Hey all I'm looking at a 2000 VFR thats been at an auto pawn for about 8 months I looked at it then but the $4995.00 price tag kept me away. Now the price has lowered a few times and is at $2995.00. The bike is Yellow (the only color that year I'm told) it has linked brakes a TWO BROS mid pipe and muffler. the engine starts right up runs smooth no smoke. they put a new rear tire on but the front tire is worn odd like ripples. there are a few plastic parts that are cracked . Now the ?'s is the front tire thing a big issue? Is there anything else I should look for? Any comments would be helpful.
    Thanks

price isn't awful. front tire might be normal wear because VFR fronts tend to cup a bit (maybe added weight of VFR?). The cracks aren't a big deal if they dont bother you. If you plan to replace them, the yellow ones cost more, though. Firgure 150-200 per plastic part just as a rough estimate (and no that is not a joke). It's a decent price, not a steal. If they show $3k, though and it's been sitting for a while, try and work a deal. Trade some junk you don't want and get their price down even more. They don't want it there forever... Take in a chainsaw, some jewelry, old boots, and offer them $2000 and see what happens.

REG 71 Thanks some good advice and I'll get some pictures in a few days. Was there a reason that Honda only did yellow that year?

Do it! Then replace the front tire and the plastics as you go along.

But check it over really well to make sure the motor and electronics are in decent shape.

I think you could get it for less. $3k is not a great price, you can get a cherry 2000 with no issues for about $3.5k if you shop around. From a pawn shop you have the issues you know about (tire, plastics could be more than $500 easily) and the issues you don't know about. Bargain hard.
