I got a 02 warrior with a 108kit, cams, and mild porting pushing 102hp and 126ft/lbs at the tire. I love this bike. My problem is I need a bike to travel to different AMA races and the warrior is not the best touring bike (no storage) even the saddle bags for it are small. my problem is I cant keep it and buy a new FJR or new Connie14. I can afford an 02 and up VFR and keep the warrior. I could keep the warrior and buy a new C14 but dont want to give up the new truck, bass boat, drums, or house  . My question is; if you were me, would you go with the 02-up VFR. or sale the 02 warrior and get the newest biggest thing the FJR or C14? the FJR feels good, I have a crushed left wrist from a previous bike wreck in 92 on a FZR. I cant ride a full out R1 sportbike, even a FZ1 hurt my wrist through deal's gap. just wondering if a VFR with heli-bars would make it tolarable for me to ride deal's gap. I ride deal's gap alot, I live about 40 miles away from the overlook. I've ground the pegs off the warrior up there, and I am looking for something with more lean angle. believe it or not the FJR does not have much more lean angle than the warrior. Im not planning to get a knee down or anything, just a little more spirited ride, with alot more storage space.
Get the VFR. I've said it many times before, inline 4's are like opinions, everyone has one. Both the FJR & C14 make significantly more power than the VFR. Who cares? I've also said many times that the VFR really doesn't need that much more power. I'd have to say the FJR & C14 are better LONG distance machines. With the array of Givi, Hepco & Becker, Krauser & Kappa boxes available, storage is the same across the board. As big as the boxes are on the C14, you can buy a Givi box that's just as big. I 1000% guarantee the VFR will handle better than both. I 10000% guarantee the VFR will sound better than both. Comfort is something only a specific person can determine for themselves. If I (6' & 195lb) think my VFR is super comfy, maybe a 5'4" or 6"8 person might not. I have the oppurtunity to ride many different bikes when I teach MSF classes & when I hang out with the other riders on base. I've yet to find a bike I prefer over my trusty 00 VFR. Plus, if you get the VFR, you now have 2 bikes. Every one knows if one of something is good, two of something is better. KC-10 FE out... lane:
I'd wanna go with 2..much more fun to have variety you better be sure you want a large tourer before you go to the fj/st deal! try some tho...might be up your alley.!!
