Hi All, well I just bought my first VFR today...having previously owned 2 CBR750 super aero's and still have one I decided to invest in a great little VFR750 on a 92 plate. Great site and lots of invaluable information on here.

here she is in all her glory

Welcome to the group. Those white wheels look good. Looks like you did a good job cleaning them. I know they are a pita to keep that way.

Thanks Guys, well I picked her up in the UK, quite by accident. I came into a windfall last week and decided I needed to get a new Bike as the CBR was getting a little tired. As soon as I mentioned this I'm sure the CBR heard me because the very next day the chain snapped at 70mph while over taking a line of cars...ouch.

I simply typed in google "classified Ads" local to me and the very first motorcycle ad had this little beauty staring back at me. A quick phone call to the owner and low and behold it was about a mile away from me....went round took one look and bought it on the spot. The guy replaced it with a Ducati....which he now hates. lol

Oh and Noobrider refers to my internet name where I started racing GP500 online...new riders were always called noobs so the name stuck...I've been riding bikes since I was 16...I'm 40 now and can count the number of days I haven't ridden on a bike this year on one hand.

I'll have to say, I like the white rims over the gold rims from that year...

That is one sweet VFR, I agree the only color for this bike. Yes, those white wheels are hard to keep clean, if you let them get dirty. Welcome!!!

Quick tip for keeping wheels clean...Mr Sheen...if the brand isn't available outside the UK its a proprietary furniture polish in an aerosol can. It contains silicon so stops the muck sticking and wipes clean really easy. Its also excellent for visors and repels water and dirt. Only lasts a few days but its so cheap its worth it.

Well I experienced my first problem with her today. Came to start her up and there was no neutral light on the dash. Took me quite a while to figure out that the only way I could start her was to pull the clutch AND raise the stand...doh...half way to work, the light started to work again and I haven't had the problem since...strange?

Hey Noob-- there is a killswitch on the sidestand so you can't ride off in 1st with the stand down. The neutral indicator wasn't on because you were in gear. You can still start the bike in 1st with stand down you just need to pull in clutch.

I would recommend making a "pre-ride" ritual of going around bike to check for anything out of ordinary, put key in, turn on, put in neutral etc... Every rider has a different ritual but we all get to same place. Just take your time.

Make sure sidestand is up if you are using centerstand!
