    Greetings to all..
I've been a lurker for some time & my first post is a big thanks
to those who mentioned the Sargent seat sale..

I have a corbin on my RC 36 ...(had it for years) & been waitin for
a good reason (sale/deal) to try a Sargent for my VTR....
Sandhills Powersports has it for about $75.00 savings..
I wouldn't have known had I not read it on the list..

I'm a good customer of New Enough .com,
& dedicate my free gift to this site.. Joebiker996

    Joe,
Welcome to the site. :welcome: Out of curiosity, why are you looking to change seats? I'm looking into getting a Corbin, due to the optional backrest that no one else offers. Any prob's with the Corbin or are you just wanting to try to find a better product ?

I recently purchased the Sargent seat for several reasons.

One is that by having the two piece seat I can ride without the passenger seat on the bike.

This allows me to have some storage space under the rear cowl and not have to use a tank bag.

This seems to work quite well for one day short rides.

This is on a '98 bike. I'm not sure about how this would work on a 6th gen bike.

    Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas (I need some hot egg nog)

I have had the Corbin since shortly after my 91 VFR purchase
(in '93 or 94) & it has been a worthwhile replacement for the stock seat, doing what I'd hoped it would, which was improve the seat/handlebar relationship. The stock seat/handlebar orientation had my body leaning too far forward, with excessive weight on wrists & necessitating my having to lift my head up to see where I was going. This resulted in a literal pain in the neck,as well as the wrist discomfort, from supporting my upper body.
Though quite pricey (a little over $500.00 back then if memory is correct)
the corbin (shaped to position my butt lower in it's bucket-like seating area)
has me sitting slightly more upright, relieving the discomfort in my neck and wrists.. I thought this to be a great improvment.
I have since done 500 mile days riding without difficulty
(this done last year @ my almost geriatric age of 54 yrs.)
My only criticism of the corbin is it's construction..the seat has a sort of plastic/polymer base (that in itself not a problem) but attached to the seat pan are little rubber bumpers, used for areas where the seat pan actually contacts the frame..(to provide cushioning, absorb vibration, whatever)
These rubber bumpers are pop-riveted on to the seat base (!)
They have been falling off since (?)..I should send it back to corbin or ask them about the problem but haven't yet...in that,
My VFR in 1 of 5 bikes I ride regularily ,so though it is "old" ,it really
doesn't have that many miles on it.. (about 15K @ present)
My '86 Aspencade (with about 55K) and my "newer" '95 ST 1100 (with 45K)
get the most "touring/hauling stuff around" miles ,
while my RC 36 VFR and '98 VTR (Superhawk) get only "fun" rides
(for the most part) and get vacation miles ie..trips to Deal's Gap.
My post was about getting a Sargent seat for my VTR (superhawk),
not as a replacement for the Corbin. I've read nothing but good things about Sargent seats & decided early on, that my VTR would be more comfortable
with a new seat, for the same reasons the VFR seat was replaced.
I apologize for the wordy response but felt an explination was in order...
    Ride safe.... joebiker996.
