Hey everybody, I just picked this girl up for $650 the other day. 18k Miles, good brakes and tires,no rust. All it needed was a battery and a little bit of seafoam in the tank and I had her running good. I just noticed she needs an air filter but other then that she starts right up and runs good.

I was changing the oil and noticed it was really dark and smelled like gas. I thought this was from me leaving the petcock on for 2 days. I changed the oil and checked and made sure the petcock wasn't leaking and it isn't. Took the bike out and rode it for the day and smelled the oil and it smelled like gas again. The engine doesn't make any weird noises and it seems to have all of it's power.

Anybody have any idea what is causing this? Thanks, Ray

Is the oil level rising? You may have a float sticking causing the overflow into the cyclinders ending up in the crankcase. If the level stays constant and you sure there is no overflow, change the oil again and again until it's clean.
