I'm getting ready to install a set of 1999 headers (sans catalytic converter) onto my '02 VFR. I bought a brand new set so I could get a set of virgin pipes to work with. My questions: 1. The pipes for the rear cylinders seem to be unpainted, uncoated mild steel. How long before they begin rusting? 2. The header body itself is painted flat black. How durable is that paint or is it going to burn off in a few hundred miles? 3. Do I need to just go ahead and bite the bullet and have the entire system Jet Coated? 4. Anybody have any experience with Jet Coating? How well did it hold up?
