1998 VFR Tail Light/Blinker Wiring Issues

    I have a 98 VFR that the tail light/ blinker wires are all bundled up.. Put a new LED light assymbly on and cant get the wiring right.. Does anyone know the wiring scheme. for Brake,Left & Right blinkers?? I have been working on this for days now.. My mutlimeter is wearing me out..

    Days for 4 wires? I'll never understand peoples fear/ignorance of basic electricity. :rolleyes:
    Don't take it personally, because you are not alone. There are people I work with, who have the training, that would rather hide in a closet and rub blocks of styrofoam together, than work on an electrical snag. Rant over.

    I'm assuming that the colour code hasn't changed, since the 3rd & 4th gens are the same.

    Green=common/ground
    Brown=tail/license
    Orange=left signal
    Light blue=right signal
    Green/yellow=brake

    If yours is different, just set the meter to read 12VDC, connect the black lead to the bike frame and the red lead to various wires. The one with constant 12V, with the ignition on, is the tail light. The others will show voltage when the appropriate switch is functioned.
