My vfr makes like a metal buzzing/clicking noise I've noticed around 4.5k-5.5k RPM's. When riding alone it doesn't seem to make the noise below or above that range. I seem to notice the noise a little more when riding with a passenger though. Took a pic of where it sounded like it was coming from. Pic was on the right hand side, right of foot peg.
Theres a metal lower fairing piece on either side of the bike, they screw into a bung where the exhaust system is, maybe you lost the bolts or they backed off, you can get a funny noise if this happens. Keep us posted
