I 've run into a "deal" where a guy has a lowsided 93 and a set of 03 fairings that he claims will fit on it as replaacements. Now I've heard the one about u can make anything fit with enough determination and time, but how realistic is this and what would be the problem areas? guy says he has the braces and inner panels. (no mirrors) Anyone done this crazyness themselves?
I would love to try. Assuming the front fairing stay would bolt on and hang the fairing in the right place against the frame; Problem areas woul be that the '03 tank was much wider at the front, matching up a gauge cluster, and possible that it will just look like shit against the body lines in the rear. I would not expect this to be easy.
Oh, it's just a rant now-see it's off CL already. U know I expected his claim of "just spend a day bolting things together and you will have a like new motorcycle" to be a slight exageration. BUT thinking it over seems more like measuring, cutting both sets of brackets apart, jigging up, taking to welding shop, test fitting, repeat 1-4 and Maybe 1 wk later u would have a red w/ white tail piece motorcycle that still needs painting.
