    Hello all,

I just purchased a 84 interceptor to restore. I have very little idea of what I'm doing. I've created a blog to track my progress. Please feel free to visit and comment on how I should be doing things.

I will be posting questions i have as they come up.

    Thanks!

In practical terms, there are very few non-running VFs in good enough condition now for economical "restoration," as newer, better bikes are commonly available for a similar price.

Sure, you buy in cheap, but usually get what you pay for, not a running, reliable bike you can actually ride.

Even after your best mechanical skills have been employed, you still need to deal with and TRY to correct the various flaws that were built into the bike, cam oiling issues, for example.

these bikes are either running, or dead. from what I've found, theres no real inbetween. top end oiling was the BIGGEST issue, followed by poor maintenance.
