Aren't fuel tank dents like that usually caused by the handlbar when they tip over?

What a gorgeous bike though - very clean! That livery is one of Honda's best ever, IMHO.

Yeah, that's almost guaranteed a turn signal button.

I probably wouldn't have bought it, but it was so close that the shipping was only $30 so it made the deal reasonable. It's going in the parts reserve for the (eventual) VF750R build. If somehow I get a bike with a better tank, this will not go down in value. Or I may still use this one and sell the nicer one.

Good score, for sure. I look for tanks all the time and have been very fortunate to grab some in very good condition for a reasonable price. The shipping can be a deal breaker so you did really good with that $30 cost!

BTW....a while back I bought one of those HF stud welder dent repair kits but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Seems like it would do a good job on dents like that.

Yeah, I'll cross that bridge if/when I need to.

I bought an Amazon glue stick/pad dent puller last year. It works surprisingly really good on dents that are not creased or on edges. (unlike this tank). A friend brought his Hawk tank over and he was blown away. Dents were gone and no paint damage at all. I've used it on a couple project tanks and it can be very useful.
