The bike had trouble starting and would flood out and not pull at all. On members recomendation I pulled the rack and cleaned all four and replaced float needles. Now it still won't start with choke. It fires right up with a little throttle. It idles at four thousand for about 15 seconds and floods out. I backed the idle screw way out and it made no change. I pullled the.plugs to find out the rear.two are throwing no spark and gas soaked but the same plugs spark from the front bank coil pack. I was wondering if the coil is bad or could it be something else? I scraped the terminals and it made no difference.

It could be the pulse generator under the crank case cove or the spark unit mounted on the back under the seat. (there are 2 spark units) you want the one with the white plug. You can test the pulse generator (I can't recall what wires right off hand) if there is resistance it is good. there is no test I could find for the spark units.

Signs likely point to leaky or not adjusted correctly floats if plugs are wet and black and it only runs 15 seconds. Check for sparks on all 4 to rule in or out electricks.

Won't run right until all plugs match exactly.............something like this:

It doesn't have spark from the coil for the rear cylinder bank. The needles were just replaced is probably why my plugs look fouled. I swithced the wires from the coil that wont fire to the coil that does and it dont fire either.

If you want to eliminate the coil as the problem try switching the coils around and check for spark. If there is spark the problem would be before the coil. but checking carb adjustments and float wouldn't hurt either. i spent about 9 hours cleaning my carbs and still had sticky floats. After I commented last time i went through my book to find the pulse generator test. If it isn't carb related or the coil, you can test it. You would locate the 6 pin plug that should be under the right side cover (or under the seat like mine is) warm the bike up to around 68 degrees, then unplug the connector and use a ohmmeter to test the wires. thes the white wire with the yellow stripe and the yellow wire (cyl 1 & 3) and white with blue stripe and blue wires (cyl 2 & 4). hope this helps.
