I am starting a build thread about my 2 1984 VF1000F's. I bought them both for $200 from a friend of mine. One was a runner and one was a parts bike with a flat cam.
Pics of the bikes when I got them home.

The white one has the flat cam so it is the parts bike. I found that the rwb bike had rust in the tank and it had rusted through  so there goes the good looking tank. So after swaping tanks and priming the carbs it started up and ran pretty good. Also the key that I have only worked in the ignition and no where else so now I am in the prosess of removing all the locks from the white bike since I have the key for those. Today I changed the oil with good Mobil1 synthetic oil and as soon as my camera batterys charge up I will post pics of how they are now.

I am gonna keep it the flat black look I am gonna put on the decals in gloss black to get some ghosting effect. Next is the front fairing and then on to the fuel tank.

I have been busy working on my bike and my other hobby ( R/C racing) so I have not been able to post my progress. Here are some more pics of my progress.

Before I pulled the tank for paint I was able to take it for a test ride and WOW was I impressed with the power of the bike. I really like that you do not have to rev the snot out of it to get into the power it has strong torque right off of idle and this bike has not run in over 2 years!!!!!! I can't wait till it cleans out and really get's after it!!!!!
