Hi guys, i'm new to the vf/interceptor crowd and i have a few possibly newbish questions. I have an 84 vf500f with an 86 engine in it, but the previous owner says it has the 84 cdi boxes on it. But i haven't found any solid answers to this question i've tried cross referencing part numbers etc but i haven't been able to find anything. i guess in so many words my question is "will my bike run with the 86 cdi boxes?"

    Welcome!

I believe the difference is in the lower rev limit on the '86. The advance may also be different.

This said, I believe the spark units will work without negative effect.
