I have a 2007 VFR 800 . Would a 190/50/17 work on the bike of my bike ? would it fit on the rim ?

Check with the tire makers website. They should tell what width wheel is appropriate for that particular tire size. That tire will most likely change how your bike handles, making it harder to "turn in". Keep in mind just because the rim width will accept the larger tire doesn't mean you won't have clearance issues. Might be a good idea to measure how much room is between the swing arm and tire currently on the bike.

    What he said.

I am running 190-65-17 it is fine
The reason I use them because my little bro race and only used the sides of the tires and the center is fairly new so I use them to commute. But if I have to go buy 190 hell NO it is wider and more expensive, turning around the twisty can be tricky.

I had a set of Dunlop Road Smart that size when I bought the bike.
It didn't feel as good as the correct size, but there was nothing major or dangerous.

They will definitly fit. I've ran both Michelin and Metzlers in that size. I think they look a lot better on the bike instead of the skinnier stock tire. I've never noticed any type of odd handling. In fact, this is the most stable bike I've ever owned. I've made it thru some situations that I know I would have wiped out on other bikes. I will say that I am a daily commuter (with an occasional high speed curve) and not a weekend canyon carver so your taste may vary.
