Hey folks- was wondering if the 15 tooth front on my new/used 04 would effect the speedo. Am assuming it is. Have only ridded it 50 miles of its 658 lifespan so can't tell anything from aboard yet. Also any other insights about what this mod did to powerband, bite has Staintunes as well. Am coming off FZ1 with mods so trying to eek out whatever I can.:whip:

Yes it will, unless a 15 tooth is stock. If not, the effecdt is the indicated speed is faster then the actual speed you are traveling. You can get a speedo healer (that's what it is called, the actual name) and it will correct it for the most part. There may still be some discrepancy, but not a big one. The 15 tooth will increase accelleration, but only because of the fact that the gear ratio has changed. There is no change to horsepower or the "powerband" itself.

Thanks Vinny- that's what I thought about the gearing, but wasn't sure. Will look into the healer, but if its under 10% I may just leave it for ticket insurance:biggrin:

To give an example, I went +2 on the rear, and my speedo read 10 mph faster at road speed, i.e. going 55 mph, speedo read 65. The difference may be a little more since you are -1 on the front.

Will definitely find the healer, thanks Vinny.

Have decided to just put stock sprocket back on and be done with it. Any link to Honda manual in PDF would be greatly appreciated. I can probably figure it out but I am a bit of a hack and don't want to screw up my new ride. Thanks
