Cycle Gear has the Bilt brand Trackstar boot on Sale. Regularly $159 for $59. Not the highest quality boot out there, but for the money it's a no-brainer. Got my cheap ass a pair today:biggrin-new:

I bought a clearance pair and the Bilt one-piece leathers for $200 last year. Don't know much about quality vs competitors around the price range but both items fit just like they should, no problems yet.

Although I don't think their boots look like they have much in protecting you from hyper extension injuries, I think they'd be a whole lot better than wearing street shoes/boots. The Bilt gear is made for riders on a budget and again much better than street clothes IMO. The rub with most safety gear, you never know its true quality until it's called to perform its job. That being said, a $200 leather suit with armor will protect you way more than a $200 pair of designer jeans! ATGATT brothers!

Be sure and remove the pricetags and even the labels so only a few will catch on. There is probably someplace on the net that will sell Aerostitch, Vanson or HD labels.

I have a similar pair that I got on sale there last year, but I have another pair that I wear more often.
They make the Bilt Pro Tourer, a half-boot that has 2 zippers on the front, and it's the easiest thing in the world to step in and out of, and it's comfortable enough that I can wear it all day long at work.
I can't vouch for the waterproof part... I live in the desert.

As much as I like my Ricky Racer boots, I'm always anxious to take them off at the end of the ride- partly from wearing my jeans inside the boot, I'm sure.
I have to talk myself into wearing them... kind of a "you wanted them, you bought them, now wear them" conversation with myself.

Watch for these Bilt Pro Tourer boots to go on sale, it'll become your daily go-to boot. They're $139, but I think I got mine for $69 on sale.
And when they go on sale again, I'll buy another pair.
