Hey guys, I am a solid 220lbs. Big fatass. I want to upgrade the suspension because of the soft feel, if I just do springs from racetech, does the stock dampening bode well with this? Or do I need to replace the rear shock and front cartridges completely?

Personally I would do both the front and rear at the same time. I would also consult with a specialist as to what you're looking for out of the suspension. I actually updated both my VFRs and went to www.daughertymotorsports.com. The owner, Jamie Daugherty, is a member here and has done a great job for many of us VFR owners (do a search and you'll see). IMO, just changing the springs is only doing half the job, damping has much more influence on your suspension than the springs, but they do work together. Jamie just released a fork kit that just drops in and he also has great deals on rear shock alternatives. For less than the cost of most aftermarket shocks alone, you can get both f/r redone by him and be happy with the results.

    Cheers!
