Need a spare set of wheels and tires for track days. Can I make these 06 wheels or any correctly sized non ABS work on an ABS bike for track use? Can I just by the slotted ring(s) and install or is the wheel made differently?

    Thanks,

    Reg

According to the Honda parts fische the part numbers for the front and rear wheel rims and the left front brake rotor are exactly the same for the '06 non ABS and '07 ABS equipped bikes.

The right front brake rotor seems to be the only difference between the two. The Honda part number for the right front ABS brake rotor is 45120-MCW-H11. That rotor costs about $354.00.
That part number is only one digit off from the right side non ABS brake rotor part number 45120-MCW-H01.
I'm guessing that's because the right side brake rotor carrier on the ABS equipped bikes is probably drilled and tapped to accept the ABS pulser ring.
According to the Honda parts fische you can get the ABS pulser ring seperately.
The Honda part number is 44515-MBT-D50. It'll cost you about $25.00.
You'll also need the three bolts to secure that ABS pulser ring onto the brake rotor carrier.
The part number for the bolts is 90131-KPB-751. Those bolts are about $2.40 apiece.

So the non ABS rotor has to be drilled and tapped to accept the ABS ring. Don't know if I want to deal with that.

    Thanks plenty for the information.

from what i can tell all you need to do is mount the abs rotor to your front wheel every time you put it on.

So I can swap the ABS rotor back and forth? Don't have to buy a special (ABS) wheel?

    I like it.
