    Hi there -

Though I mainly frequent VFRD, I have been lurking here for a while, so it seems a good time to introduce myself...

A few years ago I was looking for an '09 VFR800, in the beautiful White/Black colour scheme. There aren't a whole lot in Nova Scotia, Canada, but I did have a line on one and almost ended up biting...but the seller weirded me out so I walked away. At the end of summer 2012, doesn't an '02 appear on Kijiji - it had about 48,000km, appeared to be in excellent condition, and had been repainted in the '09 White/Black scheme! By the time I met the seller and got to a price point we both considered fair, I paid just over half what it would have cost me for a used '09 with reasonable mileage - and after selling my pristine Ninja 500R, I was only out of pocket about $2k. That's a hell of an upgrade for a great price.

Here she is as she stands last summer... next up will be new tires (Pirelli Angel GT) and suspension re-work by Jamie D. That should cost enough to keep me from buying one of Seb's clear clutch covers, but I think that and an 8-spoke rear wheel will eventually come along as this bike looks too damn good not to keep going.

Quick list of my add'on's since purchase:
    • Heli-bars
    • Corbin seat
    • OEM luggage
    • OEM mirrors / barends (the silly carbon fibre ones in the pics are now replaced, updated pics by August when our snow melts)
    • PCV
    • Autotune (just purchased, don't have installed yet)
    • 520-conversion RK chain and -1+2 sprockets
    • Misc other bits here and there.

I know, I know, pics or it didn't happen.

What do you all think? To say I love it would truly be an understatement.

Sweet. Sounds like a great price, especially with the pile of extras. I always did like the white and black, but I think repainting an '02 is cheating...

    Very nice!

Where are you in Nova Scotia, perhaps we can meet for an afternoon of VFRness? After the snow melts that is.

I have seen that color scheme on other European VFR's, sure it didn't come from the UK?

I really do love that paint scheme and have considered painting my '02 the same. Really nice looking bike you have there.

    Thanks for the compliments!

Jethro - I'm in Dartmouth, but am definitely up for a ride some time (Cabot Trail perhaps?)

At the moment the VFR is stripped to the engine and frame; getting the suspension done by Jamie D, currently finishing the PAIR blockoff and then installing the Autotune... and a new Pirelli Angel for the rear. Also ordered an '06 clear taillight assembly to clean up the rear a little.

A couple of miscellaneous bits from eBay to add - voltmeter and gear indicator, both cheapies from China so it will be interesting to see how they work. Also a SpeedoDRD to correct my speedo after the -1+2 sprocket install.

    Fun times!

I got hit by a white car that crossed the double yellows. The result of white car and black bike didn't look as good as your bike. Nice looking ride.

It looks smaller - more tidy and compact - in all white. I dig it.
