02 Vfr Lcd Display And Tach Not Working??

    I just came back from a 1 hour ride and noticed halfway home that my lcd displays and tachometer where not working. they came on brieflly and then went back out again a couple of times. I recently washed the bike and think maybe I got some water somewhere. Has this happened to anyone before? If so does anyone have any idea or suggestion as to what area or wiring to check before I start on my own?
    could it be the fuses?
    Any help would be appreciated.
