I had a 2000 yellow VFR. Was yellow only available in Canada in 1999? In the US, the yellow was a 2000 model. Superb bikes.

My 6th gen doesn't have an air horn but it has a very loud car horn, it works fine with the stock wiring.

Have you tried different brake pads, new fluid?
Just get extra plastics for your bike and paint them with a resto look.
