Absolutely correct; the tranny on my 2007 VFR800 is the worst I've ever had with a Honda, but the rest of the bike is close to perfect so whatever.
I have the flat black Remus pipes on my 2007; perfect fit and fantastic sound at 10,000 rpm (even with the baffles in).
