      I was digging up old posts on the VF1000R when I saw yours and noticed you were in CT. I just picked up 2 ratty 1985's. I think I am more excited to restore one than ride it. If you are ever near Old Saybrook look me up. May be we could ride the 1000's together. They are so rare it would be cool to see more than one at a time.
