    hello everyone, I'm John T. I will be purchasing a 2000 yellow Honda VFR800F1 interceptor this weekend, and just wanted to introduce myself.

    Here are some basic questions, that a search didn't didn't pull up.

    * What type headlight bulbs?
    * Is there a way to adjust the luminosity of the lowbeam headlight in the daylight? (can I turn the bulb down to 75% instead of 100%?)
    * LED turn signal bulbs; do they make the blinkers hyperblink?
    * Does this bike have too much power for a beginner?
    * Is this bike faster 40-80mph than a katana (only other bike I've riden on the highway, (for passing, not racing))?

    Faster?

    At highway speed, kick it down to 4th, twist it, and hang on. Shift @ 11k. Twist it again. You should not be looking at the 120 on the speed-0-meter, at this point. Shift again?

    Not sure about the LED question... I can't remember if anyone has typed up a how-to on them. As you can see above there have been lots of threads about headlight conversion and such.

    I think bike has too much power for a beginner but when I was a beginner I was on a dirtbike. I think everyone would benefit from starting there with a light bike that's cheap to fix. That's not to say you can't start on the VFR, but it can bite you if you don't keep the respect.

    SLOVFR has had both Katana and VFR 750 so he could give so informed answer. I can say this, this bike easily passes on highway even two-up and in 6th gear going up a hill at 80mph. Nuff said?
