Okay, so why is the clutch lever longer than the brake lever?

Most people are right handed and have a stronger pull with that hand (brake lever) than they do with their weaker left hand (clutch). So overall engineers were just leveling the field by making the left lever longer than the right.

    Brake Lever

It's a little known function of the ABS Linked Brake System built in by the Honda engineers.
The clutch lever is not really longer.
The brake lever is "A Bit Shorter".

It is longer so the previous owner's wife can pull it all to heck while trying to lift it by herself after her four year old knocked it over in the garage?

Never noticed that stock clutch lever was longer. But when going to aftermarket levers, folks often get a "shorty" for the brake and normal length for the clutch. Pretty sure the reason is leverage; can cover and operate brakes w/ 2 fingers, 2-4 on clutch. More oriented towards sport bikes, especially if you have upgraded brake system.

Another benefit may be to leave a couple fingers on grip to hold throttle (though easy enough to hold w/ thumb/palm if using all 4 on brake).

Because Honda got a great price from a supplier who was going to scrap a bad lot of long levers.

Don't know if it is longer, but it is nice to be able to wrap your whole hand around it while you're waiting through three cycles of the traffic lights before the pickups recognize that your bike is there and g#% d#&% f*@#ing left turn signal changes!
