I think I am probably being stupid, but I'll claim being new for now... what is the chat you are talking about on Thursday?

Maren...it would be so much fun if you came out here to Seattle! We've got some great rides I could show you—out on the Peninsula and around Mt. Rainier are just a few— and we could even hang out in dowtown Seattle a bit if you like. The only plans I have to be away for very long this summer is my trip in July which I need to get the route from my friends and I will let you know when we will be heading in your direction. Hey, you could even join us if you want to do any of that ride again. I have all the info at work, so I'll get it and send it home, then send you a message if you are interested.

Natalie - I missed you in the chat! So sorry - I logged in early but then could only stay a few minutes. I had to see the world's largest helicopter land at the airport! See you at next week's chat then?

Hi - I am just back from an 850 mile trip Wyoming to home. Rode over a 9500 ft pass into the Tetons-- wheeee.... very cold, but dry road with deep snowbanks on either side. Electric vests are worth every $$!!! I have the great new Aerostich version with zip-off arms. Took a new route home and found another lovely hot springs place. My husband on his '85 GoldWing and me on the '86 VFR-- we both got the same gas mileage. But he averaged 75mph and I averaged,uh, more. "See you later,hon...." mrae
Natalie-- thanks for invite to Seattle and/ or trip. Tell me your route and I'll see if I could meet you at some point even if just an overnight. maren

Thursday May 11th at 7pm (Los Angeles) PST - converts to 12 noon Friday May 12th Brisbane time. According to "Time Converters". I hope that helps VFRkitten. I don't know when the next chat is - but I hope to hear from you.

Maren—it sounds like you been doing some great riding! I want to get a heated vest next year. I been using heated gloves for awhile, but actually never hooked them up to my new bike. Did you drill a plug into the fairing or just let the connector hang out of the seat? I need to get the itinerary for my trip in July, but I will keep you poster...it would be great if you could join us for at least some of the trip.

Viffergirl...how far north are you? Wouldn't that be cool if the three of us could meet up at some point?

VFRKitten, I hope you can join the chat tomorrow night...I'll try to get there by 7:30, but I have meetings all day long and may get home a bit late.

It would be fun to talk to ya'll!

Viffergirl, yeah...it was a lot of fun chatting with you as well! I feel as if we would be great friends if we lived closer.

mrae and Vifferkitten, you'll have to join the next world chat if you can...then we'll really scare the boys.

I do have serious question though. VG and VK....you both have a VTEC bike, right? I am really thinking mine is weird, but I am still learning how to ride it. The transition around 6-7,000 rpm is so sticky and then jolts forward that I am wondering if it is working properly. Plus, when I bought it, it felt butter smooth and now it is progressively getting more bumpy/rough feeling especially at low speeds. A friend of mine keeps saying he wants to ride it and then he'll tell me what he thinks, but he also is wondering if maybe when I took it in for its 600 miles service, maybe they didn't check the throttle bodies...does this even happen at that service? Do any of you know what they REALLY should have done at that service? I think I'll ask this question on the mechanics forum, but wanted to know what ya'll think.

    Thanks! Ride safe. :bolt:

I'm sure there is a mechanic out there somewhere who could give you informed advice on that topic. Maybe post that question to the board and not limit yourself to this thread? My bike is smooth as silk but the VTec does give somewhat of a kick.
Heh - I picked up the bike with the new lowering kit on. Fabulous! Wow! What a ride! I love this bike!
    Happy trails.

Oh were GREAT!! I bought her a month ago.My poor girl had a terrible past owner who didnt pay his debt on her so the bank took her back. When they snatched her from him the wheel lock was on..strapped her up and jerked her onto the tow rig..Her entire right side needed repair. So took her apart gave her a complete overhaul...new paint, fluids, headlights, tires, rear tailight, dark smoke double bubble screen and a detail thats got her smiling again!! Got her back on the road Friday went for a small ride and took her for a 200 mile ride yesterday!!! SHES AWESOME!!

Hi ladies, I was wondering what type of boots you are wearing? I have two pairs of thick "harley" boots. Not too comfy walking any distance. Any help would be great.

    Boots

    Hey BadKitty,
I checked on Google & found the boots you were suggesting. I found a place
nearby that sells them & tried them on. I like them. But haven't made a purchase yet. I may go back if I don't find what I want. They were very comfy like you said.
    thanks for the suggestion.
